Life in the Royal National Park..

Hi ALL!
Things are going goood here in Aussieland, just had another great week at YouthWorks. At this point I only have 3 weeks left :( totally a bummer. I am definatly loving it here, and will miss it! We had some great kids in this week, a boy named Jimmy with CP who totally made my week. That kid had more courage than anyone I have ever met! Friday night went to Wollongong to eat some Chickos and check out the view at Buli. It was fantastic! Its starting to get cold here, as the Australian winter approches. Cold as in you need to put on a jumper, or sweater as normal people say! So future plans include surf camp, melbourne, and whitsunday sailing trip! Its going to be awesome,

oh that harbor bridge...

Hi all,
I have a bit of time this evening free to blog it up so here I am! So I have been in Australia officially for two months and 5 days. Its actually hard to believe its been that long! The weather continues to be hot and sunny, even though the summer is techincally over. We have now entered a period of time called "Autum" which is like well, Canadian summer, only warmer, and sunnier, and there's beaches. Ahaha everyone keeps saying that it is getting cold, i dont really believe them! I have a month and a bit left at youthworks, which is actually quite sad. I really love it here, even though some days are stressfull and kids can be so anoying!!
Some news on the home front, I just found out that I got into Regent College at UBC for a masters program! I still cant believe it!! I dont know if that is the plan for september yet, but its a goooood option!
You would all be glad to here that I a successfully converting Australians into Australians who are now dying to come to Canada, its funny how being away from your country makes you love it even more. As of now I have 3 people with serious commitments to come to Canada, and most likely work at OPC! sooo good! or fully sick, or heaps mad as the aussies would say!

This was last sunday morning, on my porch at work, with Susan and Ash, we made pancakes and had maple syrup...so good...everyone here is obsessed with maple syrup, i told them i make it in my backyard, next to where I keep my pet bears.

This is a pic of the opera house, there is a palm tree at the top part of the pic, but this website doesnt really show it well, this was one night in circular quay, one of the main harbor fronts in Sydney.

This is a little shot of the Harbor bridge, I had been on the top of it like 4 hours earlier! so crazy! There are some nice palm trees in this one too. although they arnt even an australian thing, some one brought them over cause they thought it would make the place look more tropical, hmmm

Harbor Bridge and a good View

HI!
So its been a little while since I have updated...things have been super busy..but super AWESOME! here in Australia! I have been loving work at YouthWorks, and have had loads of cool oppurtunities to do fun stuff with work. Like bushwalks, canoe adventures, and punt trips on the river. The schools we have had in recently have been great, tons of hillarious kids, and amazing teachers. I have been up to some pretty cool stuff recently.....so i will list off my weekends events for you ... I have friday off from work, so Ash and I headed into the city and met up with Jill, Ben, Mark and Tom, for Marks last night in Australia, It was a night of good views...we started under the harbor bridge, and wandered in Luna park, this amusement park that is right under the bridge...followed by a look out spot across the harbor which has an amazing view of the bridge and the opera house. Sat brought a delicious pancake brekkie with mangos and maple syrup followed by an adventure into the city. Ash and I then CLIMBED THE HARBOR BRIDGE!! As some of you may know I have a bit of a fear of heights...but it was so amazing!! I loved it.. the view was increadible it was defiantly a must do thing! I am so glad I did it! That evening Ash and I met up with Ben and Jill again for an evening in China town, some great food and night markets. The rest of the weekend was filled with good food, beach time at manly, a little shopping, and Airheads! So here are some pics from the last little while...enjoy!

I I know that this photo is not straight..but I cant be bothered to fix it...it will take to long..sooooo you can can just imagine it straight....These are the hot as suits we had to wear on the bridge.. I know we look increadible!! The point is so that we blend in with bridge..so as not to confuse pilots and drivers who would be distracted by our beauty..
